Abby Miller - Hand Painted Keepsake Boxes

Abby Miller recently relocated to the San Joaquin Valley, and is still learning about the flora and fauna of California. She draws inspiration from encounters with wildlife, Ukranian Petrykivka painting, traditional canal boat paintings from the U.K., Persian miniatures, medieval illuminated manuscripts, botanical illustrations, and vintage holiday cards.

The keepsake boxes she will be offering at Liberty Head Arts & Found are meant to celebrate plants and animals which may have healing properties or characteristics that speak to the recipient. Each animal and plant offers us both the recognized properties associated with their species, and those which are formed from our own encounters with nature.
